disney's animation repetitions

Stefano sent me this very nice youtube stuff which perfektly illustrates how the past disney animators re-used movements and choreographies in their movies. dont watch it if you want to keep your innocent chilhood memories... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOIrXGd51jE

line tests

Here i put a few line tests (animation drafts) i made in my animation course at Paris Ateliers with the advice of the teacher Markus Roger. it's just the bases of animation, and i didnt make a personal thing i'd really call "animation" yet (but soon!), cause i prefer to know the bases before. these line tests are my favourite ones, i didnt put the walk/run and some other bases. chien chat cheval dragon dragonfly totoro i wanted to put a less basic one, but it's too big. i've to find a better way to put... bouddhist thinking...

" we were born to die, we meet people to leave them, we own things to lose them."   it's probably a good way of thinking to stay objective, looking at the world. you dont feel any strong pain or joy, then.   but it's boring not to be really happy nor sad. so let's continue to think we'll never die, let's continue to try to keep the ones we love and the things we like.   knowing it's vain. These three little drawings represent the main characters of three long movies i plan to make one... [Lire la suite]

first book

I already went to entry exams of two schools of animation: Les Gobelins (paris), considerated as the best animation school in france, so of course the most difficult to access. but once you are in there, it is known that you wont have much problem to find a good job in a studio. the question is, do you get to a good level because of the teachings of the school or because of all the efforts you did to get in it? it has the reputation of teaching the "disney" techniques. eh yes, for those who dont know anything about... Beginnings

Here i begin this blog, and i must say it's my first one, so be indulgent for poor innocent and naïve me. i began by putting a few fotos of my past erasmus life. to precise, i was in Cork (Ireland) during the year 2007/2008, and it was grand like! meaning it will stay a very important year for the rest of my life. that's also why, even if i'm using a french website,  i'm writing in englisch; sometimes with unintentional mistakes (because i'm french) and sometimes with intentional ones, being influenced by the...
